Grad Students Curling

OK, so my fellow grad students and I went curling on Tuesday. There were about 11 of us in total only two of which had curled before (the two Canadians). Pretty much everyone else comes from countries where they don`t even have winter. So you can imagine that it was bound to be a little hilarious. There were a couple of nasty falls, some pretty funny sweeping and sliding, and one guy split his pants up the crotch area but luckily no one was hurt. But, the real funny part in my opinion was when we got there and some girl was teaching us how to walk / move on the ice and sweep and all that good stuff. Meanwhile on the sheet right beside us is Team Ferby (5 time Canadian Champs, 4 time world champs) minus Ferby himself, practicing. They must have been just finishing up because they left right away (maybe they were scared of our sick curling skillz). Then, Kevin Martin and his team comes in and takes their place right beside us and conducts their own practice session!! I told some of the other students they were curling beside some of the best curlers in the world.

One thing I noticed, Marcel Rocque (Ferby`s Lead) is a beast! Except that his left arm appeared much larger than his right arm.

OK, so I agree with Mike and am very disappointed with Edmonton`s pro teams right now. Seriously. I hope they can pull it together!!!

Is anyone watching the office? It is my prediction that Michael Scott will start dating Pam`s mom and that it will be hilarious! Also, the last episode gave Kevin a lot of face time and it was great! The kleenex box shoes and the wig? Hilarious!

One more thing:

OMG, some people play Muggle Quidditch.

See here

And here

Weird. Also, I think there are some fundamental problems with the rules of the game. Just sayin`.
