Today and Other Musings

Today we saw: Archaeological Crypts beneath the square in front of Notre Dame. The foundations and structures in the crypts date back as early as 300 AD. Pretty cool. Went to Hotel des Invalides, including the Dome Church, where Napoleon's (and several others) Tomb is located. Pretty cool. The audio tour for this one kind… Continue reading »

Paris

Well, it's been more than a few days since my last update and as you can imagine, we've done A LOT since then. So, I'll keep it breif and point form if possible, but it will still be really long… I apologize in advance, but it's as much for me as you. We're staying in… Continue reading »

London – Day 4 and 5

Day 4: Saw the National War Museum. Very cool. Mostly it's a museum of the 1st and 2nd world wars plus an exhibit about the holocaust with some later wars sprinkled in for good measure. We both really liked this museum. It's way cooler than it sounds. They've got a lot of old tanks, a… Continue reading »

London – Day 2 and 3

Yesterday: Saw the Victoria and Albert Museum. It was MASSIVE!!! Enormous! Saw the Museum of Natural History (I think that's what it was)… Basically dinos, animals, rocks and geology. I quite enjoyed this one. Wish we had more time here. Last night we went to see a show – Cabaret. I had no idea what… Continue reading »

Foggy London Town

Well, it's not foggy, but it's cloudy. The flight sucked. Old school plane with crappy seats and no individual screens. Kid behind me kept kicking my seat… Got 3 hours of sleep. Flew Air Canada because it was cheap. That doesn't mean it was worth it. Today, took the underground to Trafalgar Square and walked… Continue reading »

Wiiiiiiiiiiiiiii, Metric and Europe

Been a busy few days for sure… On Saturday some of the boys hooked up a golf game at Lewis Estates. I played OK for 16 holes, but there were two holes that really kicked my butt and destroyed my score. The high winds didn't help either. After golf on Saturday we headed out for… Continue reading »

Ranting about Spiderman and the Freakin’ Pot Holes

Generally, I think I'd have to agree with Chaps on this one… Spiderman 3 was just not that good. It definitely wasn't as good as the first two in the series. As Chaps has mentioned, there were plenty of cheesy parts though out the film that had us all laughing out loud at the sheer… Continue reading »

Salad Dodgers dominate!

That was a great slo-pitch game last night. The Salad Dodger's pretty much dominated the other team with a strong, balanced performance on both offense and defense. I really thought everyone played very well, but notable performances included Cherie's huge catch in the outfield, Chelsey's double play, Christie's bunt followed by him stealing 2nd base,… Continue reading »

Back in ETown

Well, it's been a busy couple of weeks since my last entry. First, the move. What a pain in the butt. For many reasons, that was a very difficult move, but we're in now and are enjoying the new place. It really is so much bigger than our last place. But, despite the increase in… Continue reading »
